  • The Zurich University of the Arts (ZhdK) has terminated a far-right student under the Law of the University of Applied Sciences.
  • The leadership of the ZhdK University initiated disciplinary measures against the student as early as August.
  • The Zurich canton police had seized several firearms during a house search of the young man and another person.

In the specific case, it is the far-right group “Eisenjugend” from the Winterthur area, which is attracting attention on the Internet with racist, anti-Jewish, homophobic and ethnic content.

In August, the Tages-Anzeiger reported that the head of the group was a 19-year-old from Winterthur. He is a student at the Zurich University of the Arts and has already distributed “iron youth” stickers with slogans.

Classmates asked for exclusion from school

After police seized multiple firearms in a raid on the man and another suspect, his fellow students launched a petition demanding the man’s expulsion from school.
The petition was signed by 2,000 people.

The school management then initiated disciplinary measures against the student, which now led to his dismissal. According to the announcement, the deadline for an appeal against the exclusion ended on December 7 –
Therefore, it can be assumed that the young man did not resist.

Disciplinary measures included a ban on entering the university area or using the infrastructure. Police investigations against the suspected neo-Nazis are ongoing.
