98 new infections in Basel-City
In the canton of Basel-Stadt, 98 new infections with the corona virus were reported on Wednesday, 38 less than the previous day. Another seven people died as a result of Covid 19 disease, that is, more than ever in a day since the start of the pandemic.
Therefore, the corona pandemic in the canton of the city has so far claimed 119 deaths.
So far, a total of 6,973 residents have been infected with the corona virus in the canton of Basel-Stadt. Of these, according to pandemic statistics on canton’s 5944 website, they were considered recovered on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, 910 people were in isolation, 10 more than the day before. The number of hospitalized increased from 4 to 146, of which 98 resided in the canton of the city (+5). 18 patients with Covid 19 disease had to be treated in an intensive care unit (+1).
8 more deaths from Covid 19 in the Basel area
The canton of Baselland recorded 170 new infections with the coronavirus and eight more deaths from Covid-19 on Wednesday. Thus, 117 people in the rural canton have so far died as a result of the Covid 19 disease.
With 170 (-8) new infections, the total number of infected so far has risen to 9069, as cantonal case statistics show. Of these, 7,132 residents are considered recovered.
1,820 cases were identified as active. 59 of them are in hospital treatment (-4). Three patients required intensive care on Wednesday (-1).
