UBS wants to become more open and transparent. At least in terms of its prestige on the Paradeplatz in Zurich. The big new building will take place next fall. This is reported by the “NZZ”. We are talking about a “great success”.
According to a bank spokeswoman, the conversion “ideally” will take three years. Consequently, the new opening should take place in autumn 2024. There are not too many changes to the exterior because the facade is a listed building. But the ground floor will be fully open to the public. For example, thanks to shops or cafes. And the inner courtyard should also be opened. Others carried out similar projects in the Zurich banking center.
This is how the rein action works
UBS is planning a rooftop pavilion. This could also offer space for a restaurant. UBS intends to continue to use the spaces in between. Instead of individual offices, there should be more open workplaces.
Basel architects Herzog & de Meuron carried out the renovation. The bank does not disclose any costs. It is clear that there is an important control action: UBS empties the building completely during construction. Thanks to the home office and castling space, that’s not a problem. (lui)
