Electromobility is advancing, and with it the charging infrastructure. At fast-charging stations, Stromers can charge their fat batteries for a range of 400 kilometers or more in just 20 to 40 minutes.
What to do during this waiting period A coffee: 40 minutes is a bit long. Eat? That usually takes longer in a restaurant. And then it can be expensive with fast chargers, because blocking is penalized with additional costs. The solution? Fast charging meets fast food.

The world’s best-known fast food chain, McDonalds, promotes electric mobility in Switzerland. To do this, the golden M is collaborating with the Swiss provider of charging stations, Gofast. Together, the partners want to establish nearly 90 new loading locations over the next two years. At almost all McDrive locations in Switzerland.
It all started last week with the largest McDonalds branch in Switzerland, off the highway in Martigny VS. Gofast operated six charging stations here. This month there will be more charging stations in Hinwil ZH, Kölliken AG, La Tour-de-Trême FR and Lugano.
Enter the centers
“The combination is perfect for us,” says Gofast CEO Domenic Lanz happily. “While the car is charging, the occupants can enjoy a Big Mac.” At the same time, it is a continuation of McDonald’s sustainability strategy, says boss Aglaë Strachwitz: “Where the train no longer goes, our logistics partner already relies on biodiesel and biogas, made from our kitchen waste. Now our customers can live even more sustainably. “
With the partnership, Gofast can almost triple the number of charging locations. Fast chargers are already in more than 50 locations along major traffic routes. Thanks to the cooperation with McDonalds, Gofast is now taking a step towards crowds and centers.
