Government Councilor Peyer regrets that he was quoted in the media in an interview with the “Tagesanzeiger” today and that the internal problems have come to light.
The government intends to extend the current package of cantonal measures until Tuesday, December 22.
The situation in intensive care units is tense. According to Peyer, this morning 13 beds (out of 16) were occupied by the IPS at the Chur Cantonal Hospital. If the availability of freely available beds deteriorates, the government will toughen measures, as Peyer says. However, in case of hardening, several parameters will be used: the number of reproductions, the beds available in the intensive care units and the number of infections will influence subsequent decisions.
According to Peyer, the deciding factor for IPS resources is medical personnel, not technical equipment.
“We have it in our own hands,” Peyer calls personal responsibility. That means: keep washing your hands, keep your distance, reduce contacts, and sanitize your hands and objects that are used a lot.
