The intention communicated in early 2018 that Robin Lingg (41) will assume the leadership role of the sixth generation of the owner family in the medium term is advancing. Robin Lingg, son of Evelyn Lingg (78), sister of Chairman of the Board of Management Michael Ringier (71), will leave the Group Executive Board of Ringier AG at the end of January 2021 to prepare for her future role as a member of the Board of Administration.
Lingg joined the Ringier Group (to which BLICK also belongs) in 2013 after having worked for the international pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim for seven years. Under Lingg, Ringier successfully expanded its share of digital markets in real estate, auto, jobs and horizontals in 19 countries. Additionally, Robin Lingg has been responsible for the Technology and Data business unit since early 2019 and has strategically and organizationally realigned it internationally. Under his leadership, Ringier invested heavily in new technologies and platforms for the Group’s media markets and portfolios.
In order to optimally prepare for his next job as a member of the board of directors of the diversified media company, Robin Lingg will resign from operational responsibility for the digital markets at the end of January 2021. His move to the Board of Directors of Ringier AG is scheduled for 2023. Lingg will continue to retain selected board mandates in Ringier Group subsidiaries, including Scout24 Switzerland and DeinDeal.
Chairman of the Board of Directors Michael Ringier: “Operating experience is invaluable for the role of the Board of Directors. I would like to thank Robin very much for tackling the most difficult tasks with such success and dedication. I look forward to future cooperation on the Board of Directors. ”
Robin Lingg: “The last eight years have been incredibly exciting, valuable and successful. I will miss the day-to-day work with colleagues around the world, but I am looking forward to the next chapter, and am proud to be able to pass the staff internally to an excellently established team. “
Leadership change at the top of global markets
Axel Konjack (51) moved from Homegate real estate platform to Ringier AG as COO of Global Marketplaces in October 2018. He has many years of experience in the strategic development of digital and media companies.
As CEO, Konjack was operationally responsible for the reorganization and sustainable growth of leading digital companies in Germany and Switzerland. Axel Konjack has a business degree and studied in Frankfurt / Main and Lyon.
Marc Walder, CEO of Ringier: “My big thanks to Robin Lingg. Under his leadership, Ringier developed digital markets in 19 countries successfully, strategically and intelligently. Axel Konjack, on the other hand, is a logical and experienced successor to Robin Lingg on the Group Executive Board. “
As of February 2021, the Group Executive Board of Ringier AG will consist of: Marc Walder (CEO), Annabella Bassler (CFO), Ladina Heimgartner (Head Global Media and CEO Blick Group), Axel Konjack (Head Global Marketplaces) and Alexander Theobald (Swiss COO and CEO Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland).
