UEFA drew the last 16 Champions League games on Monday. Barcelona face PSG, Gladbach face Manchester City.
In their first knockout round in the club’s history in the Champions League, Borussia Mönchengladbach and their broad Swiss parliamentary group will face Manchester City. The result was the draw for the round of 16 scheduled for February and March.
Manchester City did not lose any of the six group stage games and, like Bayern Munich, only lost points in a draw. Bayern, meanwhile, begin their mission to defend their title in the round of 16 against Lazio.
Probably the most attractive pairing is Barcelona against Paris Saint-Germain. The encounter brings back memories of the round of 16 in spring 2017, when PSG won the first leg 4-0 and lost 6-1 in Barcelona, presumably at a disadvantage for the referee.
The draw for the knockout stages of the Champions League
- Borussia Mönchengladbach – Manchester City
- Lazio Roma – FC Bayern Munich
- Atlético de Madrid – Chelsea FC
- RB Leipzig – Liverpool FC
- FC Porto – Juventus Turin
- FC Barcelona – Paris Saint-Germain
- FC Sevilla – Borussia Dortmund
- Atalanta Bergamo – Real Madrid
