The Federal Council’s call to retreat to the four walls of oneself and to limit shopping to the essentials appears to have received limited approval from Mr. and Mrs. Schweizer. This is also shown in the images from last Saturday. They didn’t let the corona pandemic ruin their Christmas shopping.

The previous high for the average Christmas budget was recorded in 2018 at CHF 310, according to EY consultants. Compared to then, there is a clear change between the sexes: while men want to spend an average of 65 francs more on gifts this year (393 francs), women plan to spend 27 francs less (264 francs).
