The president-elect of the United States is not yet defeated. It’s probably not just your nature that is the reason for this.
Without knowledge: Today the voters of the United States cast their votes. But President-elect Trump has yet to admit defeat to his challenger Biden. Instead, he talks about electoral fraud.
Without base: It has been clear since November 7 that Biden won the election. All states have already certified the results. Trump has provided no evidence to support his claim of voter fraud. Consequently, he has suffered more than 50 legal defeats, two of them before the Supreme Court.
Don’t do it alone: Trump is not alone in his position. In a Washington Post poll of 249 Republicans in the US Congress, only 27 said Biden had won. In a Quinnipiac University poll, 70 percent of Republican voters polled said they did not believe Biden’s victory was legitimate.
Penniless: “I NEED YOUR HELP,” reads a message that Trump’s campaign team has been sending supporters for weeks. With only five dollars, the fight for the legitimacy of the elections, in which there were “enormous irregularities”, could be supported. The call is dropped: In the month after the election, Trump and his Republican Party claimed to have raised more than $ 200 million in donations. The money was received by the political organizations “Trump Victory” and “Save America”, among others.
Without clarity: The appeals give the impression that all donations go to the legal battle against the outcome of the elections. But the Trump camp only spends a fraction of donations on lawsuits or counts. According to a list from the FEC, which is responsible for funding the campaign, it was less than $ 10 million as of November 23. On Trump’s campaign page, the donor learns in fine print that 25 percent of the money goes to the Republican Party and 75 percent to the “Save America” organization. Only donations over $ 5,000 will be safely used to dispute costs.
Without X for a U: Trump cheated on his small donors, criticizes Brendan Fischer of the Campaign Legal Center of the legal news platform “Law and Crime”. “And both Trump and the Republican Party have benefited from this fundraiser.” So clearly Trump and his party are interested in continuing.
“Save America” is a special form of political organization for collecting donations, a so-called “PAC Leadership.” Trump was unable to use the money raised to support his own campaign or pay legal costs, explains Fischer. Other than that, he could use the donations however he wants: for example, to support like-minded politicians, from which members of the Trump family could also benefit. You can also use donations to pay for expensive surveys, consultants, travel, or dinners.
The money will probably make you the most influential former president you can imagine.
Without a side note: According to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, the donations put Trump “in an unusual and formidable position where he will have a lot of money and where he refuses to release his grip on the Republican Party.” That will probably make him the most influential former president you can imagine. “
