As the club announced on Sunday afternoon, Martín Rueda (57) will take over the first team until at least Christmas, after which the former Lausanne and YB coach is expected to return to the Xamax youth team.
Rueda will make his debut as Xamax coach on Tuesday, followed by a duel with last season’s other relegated FC Thun.
Former Liverpool and national defender Henchoz took over Xamax for the second time in July. Before that, he was a coach at Neuchâtel between February and June 2019, at which point he saved the club in extremis from relegation before going to Sion. (mpe)
