Saturday night, shortly after 10 pm in Unteriberg SZ: a large contingent of police officers in full march surrounds a building. A so-called illegal black bar is assaulted. According to a BLICK Reader reporter, around 100 people stayed there. None of the bar patrons can escape. The uniformed men cordoned off all escape routes. It is not known if people were able to escape before the police arrived.
The Schwyz cantonal police operations center confirmed to VIEW upon request that a “major police operation” was under way in Unteriberg. The police speak of a “security service”.
Did the police beat up the bar patrons?
The bar was apparently open until midnight with no guests wearing masks or keeping a safe distance. The restaurant was always packed with “too many people”. As a precautionary measure, the police cordoned off all the streets in the area before the operation.
According to another BLICK reader reporter who was among the guests, there were only a handful of people. They all wore protective masks and kept a safe distance of 1.8 meters from each other. The reader also raises serious accusations: he was “beaten by countless policemen with batons and protective bullets.”
The bar was reportedly opened about four months ago without legal documents. The restaurant is at the southern end of town. Currently there is only access to the multipurpose building Baumeli. From there, all roads are blocked. The Schwyz canton police want to provide detailed information on the operation on Sunday morning. (kes)
