- US President Donald Trump suffered the worst setback to date in the legal battle against his electoral defeat.
- The United States Supreme Court dismissed an action by the state of Texas against the result of the presidential elections.
Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton had demanded election results in four other states. He wanted to reverse Democrat Joe Biden’s victory over Republican Trump.
The Supreme Court said that Texas had no legal justification to intervene in the election of another state.
50 legal losses
Therefore, Biden’s inauguration on January 20 is a foregone conclusion. The Texas lawsuit had no realistic chance. The same goes for Trump’s continued efforts to reverse the outcome after all. Trump claims to have been robbed of victory by massive fraud on the part of Biden’s camp. Neither he nor his lawyers provided convincing evidence.
Trump’s camp has suffered more than 50 legal defeats so far, but he has yet to give up the fight. In no state were supporters of the current president able to change the outcome of the November 3 elections.
Trump exerts pressure
The current president tried Friday before the decision of the Supreme Court to increase the pressure on the nine justices of the Supreme Court.
Trump wrote on Twitter: “If the Supreme Court shows great wisdom and courage, the American people will win what is perhaps the most important case in history, and our electoral process will be respected again!” After the complaint was dismissed, he announced that the Supreme Court had abandoned him and that he was worthless.
