The National Council and the Council of States were also able to reach an agreement previously on the question of how to deal with the sales of vignettes abroad that are now established. Parliament decided to stop selling the sticker abroad.

Finance Minister Ueli Maurer said that in the age of advanced digitization there was no longer any reason to maintain an expensive sales network for overseas highway vignettes. The exemption provides the federal government with an annual savings of eight million francs due to the elimination of commissions.
