Beat Feuz feels his way down the Val d’Isère in the first training session. The race will now take place on Sunday instead of Saturday.
Gilles Roulin was recommended to participate in Sunday’s race in Val d’Isère in the first practice session for the first World Cup downhill race of the season. Zürcher Oberländer came in sixth place and was therefore the best Swiss.
In the French Alps, like Stefan Rogentin (15th) and Ralph Weber (30th), Roulin has to contest an internal classification for the last two Swiss-Ski starting positions.
Feuz and Paris return
Norwegian Alexander Kilde was the fastest when approaching the Oreiller-Killy slope for the first time. Downhill World Cup winner Beat Feuz (20th) and Downhill World Champion Kjetil Jansrud (32nd), who won the last downhill in Val d’Isère 4 years ago, have yet to pick up speed.
Like Feuz, Dominik Paris also lost more than 2 seconds in the fastest time of the day. The Italian returned after tearing his cruciate ligament last January, as did Mauro Caviezel (11th). The Graubünden man had torn his Achilles tendon during summer training.
