In connection with a serious traffic accident in Dornach on June 19, 2019, the Solothurn prosecutor’s office filed charges. A Swiss citizen, now 24, has to answer in court for intentional murder and other crimes.
The accident happened on Gempenstrasse in Dornach: On the winding route, there was a collision between a passenger car and a bicycle, and the cyclist was seriously injured, authorities say.
Multiple crimes
The prosecution has already completed its criminal investigation. She files charges against the 24-year-old Swiss of attempted manslaughter and other criminal offenses. Among other things, the defendant is accused of having lost control of his vehicle after an overtaking maneuver due to speeding and of having collided with a cyclist who was approaching correctly from the opposite lane.
The prosecutor assumes that the defendant with his daring and dangerous driving accepted with approval the death of the victim. The victim, then 38, had been in hospital for a long time due to life-threatening injuries.
The date of the main hearing in the Dorneck-Thierstein district court has yet to be set.
