Upcoming HCD vs. Ambri debacle – Berne offensive misery in Lausanne
Lausanne 3-0 Bern
Even with young coach Mario Kogler (33), SC Bern still has not come out of the crisis. The Bernese conceded the second 0: 3 loss in Lausanne in the third game under Austria. Despite all the changes, the Bernese hope to lose game by game on offense.
Under Don Nachbaur, the SCB scored 29 goals in 12 games, almost two and a half goals per game. In all three games with Kogler, the Bernese met twice: 2-1 after extra time in Zug at the Austrian’s debut.
Brian Gibbons gave Lausanne a lucky lead in the 7th minute with the home team’s first scoring opportunity. The longer the game lasted, the more obvious the new leader’s superiority became. Denis Malgin and Cory Conacher (as ex-SCB mercenaries) ensured Lausanne’s victory with two goals in 43 seconds at 3-0 (53rd).

Ambri – Davos 6: 2
Ambri-Piotta didn’t even need a climax from their Finnish top scorer, Nättinen, to sweep away a disappointing HCD from cold Valascia. Johnny Kneubuehler (at 1: 0), Dario Rohrbach (at 3: 1, plus two assists) and Isacco Dotti (at 5: 2) scored their first goals of the season, Diego Kostner (at 2: 0) the second.
Ambri worked very disciplined in the numerical ties and decided the game in the “Special Teams”. Ticino scored three goals in the power play and Dominic Zwerger, so to speak, scored 4: 1 in the 37th minute, even being outnumbered. This blow was symbolic: even with one man down, Ambri pressed Sandro Aeschlimann’s goal and took advantage of a rebound from close range.
Davos couldn’t react, after PostFinance captain and top scorer Andres Ambühl’s 2: 4 early in the final third, it was only 32 seconds before the three-goal gap was established again. Davos, last season’s surprise team, lost to Ambri for the second time in five days and only won two of the last six games against Rapperswil-Jona.

Geneva – Freiburg 4: 3nP
Genève-Servette Hockey Club won the home game against Freiburg two days after 0: 4 in Langnau with 4: 3 after a penalty shoot-out. Geneva have won four of their last five matches.
Servette took a detour to victory after a great start to play. Servette led 3: 1 after 22 minutes and pressed more goals. Ryan Gunderson and Andrej Bykow tied for Freiburg’s guests in the second section in nine minutes. After that, Gottéron was even closer to victory until the penalty shoot-out.
On the penalty shoot-out, Henrik Tömmernes and Noah Rod scored for Servette, while only Viktor Stalberg of the five Gottérons shooters did. With brilliant defensive action (the puck went on the line) in extra time, Geneva made the penalty shoot-out possible.
