In both Basles, the number of new corona virus infections has decreased. On Sunday there were 75 new coronavirus infections and four other deaths in the canton of Basel-Stadt. The canton of Basel-Landschaft reported 83 new cases.
With the new positive cases, the total number of infections recorded so far in Basel-Stadt increased to 6010. In Baselland there were 7,463 cases, as can be seen from the cantonal case statistics.
The corona pandemic has caused 91 deaths in the city’s canton with four new deaths so far. In Baselland, the number of deaths was stable at 82.
In isolation there were 911 in Basel-Stadt and 1,572 in the Basel area on Sunday. There were 153 (+7) people in a hospital in the city’s canton due to Covid-19, including 114 (+4) residents. 20 people were in the intensive care unit.
In the rural canton, 62 patients with Covid 19 (+2) depended on hospital care, four of the total of six patients in the intensive care unit had to be ventilated.
In the canton of Basel-Stadt, 120 new corona infections and four new deaths were recorded on Saturday. The canton of Baselland had the same number of deaths and 163 new infections.
