Thanks to a Thomas Müller brace, Bayern Munich reached a draw in the Bundesliga’s top game and defended first place.
When Emil Forsberg scored 3-2 for the Leipzig guests shortly after the break, Bayern Munich were practically losing their championship lead. Because with 3 points the “policemen” would have displaced the champions of the highest series in the Bundesliga.
But one person had something against him: Thomas Müller. Bayern’s evergreen headed a cross from Kingsley Coman, who set up Bayern’s three goals, to make it 3: 3 in the 75th minute. The offensive player thus ensured that Munich is still 2 points ahead of Leipzig.
Action from the start
The best match at the Allianz Arena lived up to its name from the first minute. After just 120 seconds, Marcel Sabitzer pushed the leather towards the bar. Afterwards, too, the guests remained dominant. The result: Christopher Nkunku deserved it 1-0.
Bayern turned the game around with goals from Jamal Musiala (30th) and Müller (34th), but Justin Kluivert responded quickly with 2-2.
Behind Bayern (23 points) and Leipzig (21) is Dortmund (19) in third place, while BVB did not go beyond the 1-1 draw in Frankfurt.
