- Davos defeated Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 4-2 in the early game of round 51.
- Luca Hischier scored the winning goal in the 50th minute.
- For Bündner it is the fourth win in the tenth game of the season.
Fortunately there are the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, HC Davos, who started the championship cautiously, I should say. In the 10th game of the season, Christian Wohlwend’s team celebrated just their fourth win, their third against St. Gallen. In the 2 previous games, the Graubünden team scored 16 goals, 4 of which were for top scorer Andres Ambühl.
On Wednesday, Luca Hischier, who won the 7-5 away win against the Lakers last Saturday, became the winner of the game. In the 50th minute, the forward came after a Lakers error and scored the winning goal at 3: 2 on a pass from Joe Thornton. Shortly before the end Thornton made it all clear with a blow to the empty goal.
Lakers with one-two shots
Meanwhile, however, things were not looking good for the Davos team. The hosts took the lead in the 8th minute through Teemu Turunen. HCD defended this lead until the 34th minute. Then the Lakers struck twice. Lukas Lhotak and Michael Loosli gave the visitors the lead in 1:02 minutes.
Herzog’s answer
Davos was able to react to the deficit. After a penalty against Sandro Forrer, Fabrice Herzog equalized in the 44th minute. Hischier and Thornton made the perfect turn thanks to their punches. Thanks to the victory, HCD improved from 11th place to 10th.
