In a violent rear-end collision on the A2 motorway near Zunzgen BL, two truckers were seriously injured on Thursday afternoon. The A2 is closed in both directions until at least 7 pm
The accident occurred shortly after 2 pm in the direction of Basel when a 47-year-old truck driver collided head-on with the rear of the truck in front of him. The vehicle was then pushed towards the central railing, made its way and stopped in the opposite lane, as announced by the Basel police.
One of the injured truckers had to be airlifted to Rega inbs hospital.

The police have launched an investigation to clarify the exact cause and course of the accident. Due to cleaning and salvage work, the A2 motorway will be closed in both directions until at least 7:00 p.m. Expect significant traffic obstructions.
