It is well known that Jogi Löw can continue to serve as coach of the German national team. The question that arises now is: how much longer? If it were up to the president of the German DFB Football Federation, Fritz Keller (63), it would end after MS 2021. After 15 years with the 60-year-old as coach.
As the “Bild” discovered, Keller tried three times in recent days to terminate the contract, which runs until 2022, a year in advance. To do this, he wanted Löw’s consent.
The first attempt began with a joint phone call. Keller’s plan is to inform the public that after MS it will be over for Löw. If the ME is successful, one can still speak of a longer cooperation. The national coach could not imagine it.
Address to the Executive Committee
The DFB president raised the issue again on Monday, this time in front of the assembled Executive Committee. Löw was offended, recalled the work he had done so far, and demanded support and unity. In the end, the rest of the committee was on the side of the coach. The decision has been made in favor of Löw.
However, Keller tried one more time and one last time. At this point, Löw shouldn’t have been in the room at all. But again no one answered him. The unit is different …
If the national coaching debate with our neighbors to the north really ends, it could reignite after the ME in the summer. Because in the Löws contract there should be a clause saying that the DFB can terminate the contract prematurely after the EM. (Red)
