Is Austria still going around Zoff skiing? The Christmas holidays cannot be spent on the slopes, neither by Austrians nor by foreign guests. The cable cars will go into operation, but restaurants and hotels will remain closed.
Media: skiing is still allowed. But only for day tourists. And without having to eat pickles. This is what the “Standard” reports.
The crown-related lockdown should extend through January. The government will announce these and other measures tomorrow, Wednesday after the Council of Ministers.

A few euros with day tourists
Apparently, the tourism industry has already come to terms with the fact that Christmas holidays are not celebrated in winter ski resorts – hotels and restaurants are temporarily closed. With this regulation, it is not given in to pressure from the outside, this measure is rather natural in view of the current number of infections, says the report.
Recently, Italy and especially Germany have lobbied to stop winter tourism in Austria. Skiing will be allowed, but not in the form of a classic ski vacation. There will be no rooms or hospitality. Media: Austrians try to earn a few euros more at least with daytime tourists.
However, the cable cars will continue to operate. The reason: they are considered public transport and are required to operate.
