More snow falls on the weekend
According to SRF Meteo, today only a fluff of snow falls in many places in the lowlands, but locally it is possible to reach up to four inches. Below 600 meters, snow turns into rain in some areas.
On the northern slopes of the Alps, more than 20 centimeters of fresh snow falls in some places. On Wednesday there will be a few more snowflakes in some places, probably in the east, in the Alps and in the south.
Anyone expecting large amounts of fresh snow to enjoy the first turns on the ski slopes has to be patient until the weekend. Higher amounts of precipitation are then expected in the south and partly in the Alps. On the southern slopes of the Alps, snow amounts of more than one meter are possible.
