For many, the corona vaccination is a hope against the epidemic. Since the beginning of the year, vaccination must also take place in Switzerland. The Federal Council made it clear that everyone can decide for themselves if they want to be vaccinated. But that is not good enough for the Swiss Freedom Movement (FBS). She begins her campaign against mandatory vaccination on Tuesday. “Current events show that we cannot trust the Federal Council, the politicians with their working groups and experts. As a result, a popular initiative will probably be the only way to stop the dictatorship over our way of life, ”he says in a message.
National Councilor Yvette Estermann (53, SVP) and comedian Marco Rima (59) are part of the initiative committee. Its purpose: Article 10 of the Federal Constitution, “Right to life and personal liberty”, with the following addition: “Interventions in the physical or mental integrity of a person require their consent. The interested party may not be penalized for refusing to give his consent, nor may he suffer social or professional disadvantages “.
Again and again Marco Rima
In this way, the initiators hope that “everyone can decide freely and without fear if they want to be vaccinated or if they have a chip attached.” What enters the body must be able to be decided “freely for all, without coercion or repression.”
Marco Rima has already made a name for himself several times this year as a crown skeptic. He repeatedly criticized federal measures in particular. Rima became something of a figurehead in the movement and was allowed to appear as a speaker at a demonstration of anti-crown measures.
Mandatory limited vaccination possible – mandatory vaccination no
A limited vaccination requirement is possible under current epidemic law. The Federal Council could make vaccines mandatory for certain groups of people (for example, for hospital staff), if public health is in serious danger and the population cannot be protected by other measures. However, an obligation is something different from a compulsion. No one can be vaccinated against their will.
To take the initiative to a vote, the committee has to collect 100,000 signatures within 18 months. It should start on Tuesday. At 3 pm the committee reported, VIEW reports. (vof)
