A young man took a ride in a relative’s car without a valid driver’s license. When he saw a police patrol in the center of the town of Cham, he stepped on the gas to evade a police checkpoint.

Late on Friday night (November 27, 2020) at 10:30 pm, a police patrol from Zug in Cham wanted to stop and control the driver of a small car. When he noticed that the police, who had activated the “Stop Police” matrix at the front, increased his speed and drove in the city at a significantly higher speed in the direction of Hünenberg See and Rotkreuz. During the trip, the man turned off the light several times in the thick fog. On the route from Honau / LU via Gisikon / LU to Root D4 / LU, the patrol following the fugitive with special signals and a distance of around 200 meters almost lost sight of the fact that he exceeded the maximum speed marked so massive.

At the Buchrain / LU roundabout, the guilty driver lost control of his vehicle and collided with the sculpture. However, he continued his journey. The accident allowed the patrol to catch up again. About 200 meters after the crash site, the driver stopped the smoking and badly damaged vehicle and was pulled over by emergency services.

The person who caused the accident was taken to the hospital for control. The Zug canton prosecutor ordered a blood and urine sample. The vehicle was insured.

It was learned that the suspect, an 18-year-old Serbian, did not have a valid driver’s license and had “borrowed” the car from a relative without their knowledge. You must answer to the responsible prosecutor.

Employees of the Lucerne police were on duty for the accident registry, the Lucerne ambulance service, the Lucerne and Zug prosecution offices and the Zug police.
