It is around 7.25am on Saturday when two criminals attacked the post office in Oberdorf BL. The unknown men tied up the two postmen and then fled with several thousand francs in their pockets to Liedertswil BL. One person was injured, as the Basel-Landschaft police wrote in a message.
The getaway car, a blue Subaru Impreza, was parked on a dirt road near the rifle house and set on fire. The fire department was able to quickly put out the burning car. The getaway car was stolen from a garage in Niederdorf before the attack.
5000 francs for information
According to police, both assailants wore light blue hooded jumpsuit and a black mask. One of the perpetrators is described as being around 185 centimeters tall, of solid stature, wearing black gloves and armed with a pistol.
The second offender was between 175 and 180 centimeters tall and of normal height. Both assailants carried an olive green bag. The police are looking for the thieves and have offered a reward of 5,000 francs for clues leading to the arrest. (hmh)
