A day after the knife attack on the Lugano mansion, TI: Wednesday the shock is still in the bones of the sales staff. Especially the one in the multimedia department. “The five employees who followed the crime in the rayon are under psychological care,” Manor spokesman Fabian Hildbrand tells BLICK. “We sent some of them home so they could gain some distance.”
The bloody act occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the department store in Piazza Dante. Soon after, around 2 p.m., two floors were cordoned off in minutes, Hildbrand reports. The department store management reacted immediately. The police were there for several hours with the forensic investigation, “a total of 30 people were at the scene”, a large contingent.

The images are now with the canton police
Hildbrand confirms that surveillance cameras filmed the knife attack. “We have not seen the images,” the spokesman said. “The video recordings were immediately confiscated by the cantonal police for clarification.” I couldn’t say more about it. “Protecting our employees and customers is very important to us now.”
All the floors of the department stores in Lugano have been accessible again since Tuesday night at 7 pm Customers were not absent, normal business was back on track. With one exception, which has nothing to do with the crime: now the employees of the Securitas security service are standing in front of the department stores. And not just in Lugano, but in front of the 59 Manor department stores in Switzerland.
Securitas ready for Black Friday
“That has nothing to do with the knife attack,” spokesman Hildbrand said when asked by BLICK. Watchdogs are part of the security concept that Manor has expanded for Black Friday. That had been planned well in advance.
In a hurry, the number of department store customers at the entrances can be better regulated.
