Argentine soccer legend Diego Armando Maradona dies. Maradona died at the age of 60, as announced by the Argentine Football Association AFA on November 25, 2020. With Maradona we leave one of the most outstanding players the world has ever seen.
At the 1986 World Cup, Maradona was the big star. A talented footballer and idol of entire generations.
Argentina beat Germany 3-2 in the final: Maradona was the best player of the tournament.
A famous and much discussed scene: Maradona hit the cross ball over England goalkeeper Peter Shilton to make it 1-0 at the net in the quarterfinals against England in jump. The hour of the birth of the “hand of God”.
Not only genius, but also madness was a faithful companion of Maradona.
At some world championships (here in Russia in 2018) it came into focus. Here enlightened like a saint.
Or at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
At the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Maradona coached his only true successor as national coach: Lionel Messi. It was not enough for another world title.
Not like any other coach, he was happy with the goals.
And when nothing worked, the rosary was reached.
From Napoli to Buenos Aires: Maradona has left his mark in many places and is considered a “saint” by many football fans. One fan wrote on Wednesday on behalf of so many others: “God is dead.”
Maradona was not averse to fancy food throughout his life.

Argentine soccer hero Diego Armando Maradona has died, deceased at the age of 60, as announced on Wednesday by the Argentine soccer association AFA and confirmed by his lawyer.
The soccer legend reportedly died on Wednesday morning local time of a heart attack at his home in the city of Tigre. The Argentine government ordered a three-day state duel.
Recently, Maradona had to undergo surgery for a brain hemorrhage. His lawyer said that he recovered for the last time from his operation at his home on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.
The Argentine has a long history of addiction to drugs and alcohol. Maradona also had to deal with health problems over and over again. He suffered two heart attacks, contracted hepatitis, and underwent gastric bypass surgery because he was severely overweight.
More recently, Maradona was the coach of the Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata club. His action in the 1986 World Cup quarter-finals when he kicked the ball into goal against England made him unforgettable. He then claimed that the “hand of God” was involved.
