According to the findings of the Basel-Landschaft police, the 83-year-old driver was driving down the Rheinfelderstrasse from Sissach in the direction of Sissacher Fluh. For unclear reasons, he lost control of his vehicle around a curve and collided head-on with a parked farm tractor. As a result, the car began to burn.
