Domni Aegerter debuted in the 125cc World Championship in Portugal 14 years ago. This weekend he will intervene in NTS in place of his compatriot Jesko Raffin.

In autumn 2006, Dominique Aegerter, then 16, made his World Championship debut at the Portuguese GP in Estoril with the Aprilia 125 of the Fiorenzo Caponera team. His long-time sponsor, Olivier Métraux, whose father Michel Métraux founded the team’s association, funded this World Cup entry after the Swiss athlete’s IDM season with his company Technomag.

Now the third of the 2020 MotoE World Cup can participate in the Moto2 World Championship final on the mountain and speaking course in Portimão. The 30-year-old Swiss replaces desperate Poland Biesiekirski on the Dutch NTS RW Racing GP Team.

Aegerter has already contested three races for this Brno racing team in place of Jesko Raffin and fought for a twelfth place in Spielberg’s NTS.

On November 1, Aegerter was able to secure second place in the Moto2 European Championship race as a guest rider in the Liqui Moly Intact SIC Junior Team on a Kalex in Valencia behind Yari Montella in the race for the European Championship of Moto2 and getting used to the GP machine again, although there instead of the 765cc three-cylinder La Triumph it was driven with 600cc Honda CBR engines.

Aegerter wants to get into the Algarve points and, unlike most of his competitors, he has track knowledge. “I tested the Honda Superbike here last year,” described Aegerter in an interview with SPEEDWEEK.com.
