Trump Doesn’t Give Up: These are the next steps in the US electoral process.
Donald Trump tries to turn his loss to Joe Biden into a victory. But little by little he is running out of options. It will continue like this for the next few weeks.
Rudolph W. Giuliani was once a respected man, not just in the United States. As mayor, he had spruced up the image of New York, a city that was quite run down in the 1980s. After the terror of September 11, 2001, he was the symbol of the city’s indestructibility, and was showered with awards.
Today Giuliani has degenerated into a joke. The preliminary, but not the last, low point was Thursday’s press conference, when Donald Trump’s lawyer and confidant claimed that the US President won the Nov.3 election and not the Democrat Joe Biden. Concrete evidence? Nothing.

You could laugh at that if it wasn’t all so sad. While the corona pandemic is worse than ever in the United States, Donald Trump has taken refuge in the White House. According to well-informed American media, the president is struggling with himself, on the one hand, he knows he has lost.
Encouraged by confidants
Currently, however, the other side dominates, which does not recognize the inevitable and wants to turn defeat into victory, whatever the cost. According to Politico, Trump is incited by close confidants like Rudy Giuliani and his adviser and speechwriter Stephen Miller, who is not afraid of contact with white racists.
So far, all attempts to challenge the election results in the disputed states have been unsuccessful. Trump and his entourage are slowly running out of time because the timetable for the additional procedure is predetermined. In the coming days and weeks, the results must be certified in all countries.

On Friday at 5 pm, local time runs on Georgia the deadline for certification. Manual recount confirmed that Joe Biden became the first Democrat to win the state in 28 years. Responsible Minister Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, is willing, according to the New York Times, to complete the certification.
Raffensperger has publicly protested the meddling attempts of his party colleagues. A federal judge appointed by Donald Trump on Thursday dismissed a motion to block authentication. The last resort for Trump’s team would be an automatic recount, but it will hardly change Biden’s lead of more than 12,000 votes.
November 23
Monday the certification in Michigan Y Pennsylvania where Biden also won. Trump’s efforts to “reverse” the result have been concentrated in Michigan in recent days. On Friday he wants to receive the top Republican MPs in the White House, a legally extremely delicate process.
The president apparently hopes that parliament will ignore the electorate’s decision and nominate his own constituents who will vote for Trump. The chances tend to zero. An attempt by Republicans to avoid votes in Wayne County, Michigan’s largest constituency, failed miserably this week.
November 30
Deadline dies in Arizona expires, another status that Joe Biden was able to conquer for his party. Republicans’ efforts to prevent the elections from being authenticated focus on Maricopa County, the most populous county, including the city of Phoenix, but a court dismissed a lawsuit Thursday.
December 1st

Nevada Y Wisconsin it’s your turn. Also in this state, Biden just won. In Wisconsin, Trump’s campaign team requires a partial recount, which has to pay for itself. Due to empty coffers, it is concentrated in two democratically governed districts. Nothing is expected to change in the final result.
December 8
It is the crucial date of the electoral process. Certification in all states must be completed by Tuesday for delegates to be appointed to the Electoral College. In principle, governors and parliaments could form different teams of electors, but that would be questionable in terms of democracy.
December 14th
Voters meet in the capitals of their respective states and cast their votes. Starting today, Joe Biden should win the Electoral College by 306 votes to 232. In the past there were some “rogue” voters, but they did not influence the outcome of the elections.
January 6th
The Congress of Washington must ratify the result of the Electoral College. If neither candidate gets more than 270 votes, that horror scenario could arise in which the House of Representatives has to elect the president, and not the plenary, but the majority Republican delegations from all 50 states.
It probably isn’t. Everything still points to Joe Biden being sworn in as the 46th president of the United States on January 20, 2021. At the White House, even Donald Trump’s employees, according to Politico, shake their heads at the strange appearances of Giuliani and the president’s attempts to avoid the inevitable.
However, the damage is done. Trump continues to block the transfer of official business, which Joe Biden criticized Thursday as “completely irresponsible.” Trust in the democratic process is also damaged. According to a poll, 68 percent of Republicans believe Biden won because of voter fraud.
