The details are regulated in the ordinance, which is expected to be approved at the next meeting of the Federal Council and will take effect on December 1. In the case of compensation for short-term work, the right to fixed-term employment is also extended. The waiting period is lifted.
Help for sports
The Federal Council has also ruled on financial aid to professional and semi-professional sports clubs in Switzerland. With an à-fonds-perdu amount of up to 115 million francs, up to two-thirds of the economic damage suffered by clubs during the coronavirus pandemic will be compensated for the loss of spectator income.
The 115 million francs is included in the 175 million franc package for Swiss sports, which was originally intended to repay loans. Clubs can continue to obtain such loans. Club contributions will be replaced per game beginning October 29; since then, ghost games must be played.
The payment of funds is tied to certain conditions: a reduction in maximum salaries, an exemption from dividends and the continuation of the promotion of players and youth departments.
If you violate the mask requirement, there are again fines
The Federal Council requests an amendment to the Fines Law Ordinance under the Covid-19 Law. Minor violations of the Epidemic Law, such as violations of the obligation to wear a face mask, should now also be sanctioned in the administrative fine procedure.
The Federal Council has again decided to summon those subject to the protection service. It comprises a quota of a maximum of 500,000 working days and is valid until March 31, 2021. Possible areas of application of civil protection include easing the burden on nursing staff, support in locating contacts and assistance with logistics .
220 military in action
Viola Amherd, head of the Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sports (DDPS), told the media that around 220 members of the armed forces are currently working to support civilian health institutions in the fight against the pandemic of the crown.
In early November, the Federal Council decided to support the health system with up to 2,500 members of the military. It can only be used in a subsidiary way and is subject to strict conditions. Parliament has to approve the current deployment of the army in the winter session.
On Wednesday, the Federal Council approved the corresponding draft federal decree and the corresponding dispatch. Therefore, funding should be possible from the regular army budget.
