A goat is slaughtered by a predator in Walzenhausen: authorities take over a wolf
A goat was killed Sunday night in a pasture in Walzenhausen in Appenzell Ausserrhoden. The hunting administration suspects that a wolf is responsible for this.

Due to the nature of the injuries, it must be assumed that the Geiss was killed by a wolf, the authorities of the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden wrote in a message on Monday. The hunting administration does not rule out that it may be the same wolf that had already killed a sheep in Trogen at the end of October. To clarify the exact circumstances, the canton took DNA samples from the bite marks.
Authorities have informed small livestock owners of the incident via SMS. Caution is advised when leaving sheep and small animals and taking steps to protect herds.
