Tragedy in Zurich: a fire claims one death and several injuries

In a fire in an apartment in District 5, one person died on Thursday afternoon, November 12, 2020. The identity and cause of the fire are currently unclear. There was considerable material damage.

Shortly before 1:45 pm, a passerby reported that black smoke was rising from the window of an apartment in the apartment building at Limmatstrasse 199. The Limmatstrasse had to be closed on the section between Viaduktstrasse and Quellenstrasse for just over an hour.
