Hospitals must not reach their capacity limits: the entire Covid strategy of the federal government and the cantons is geared towards this goal. In recent days and weeks, the federal scientific task force has repeatedly published new calculations on when the last bed should be occupied in Swiss intensive care units.

The worst scenarios have not materialized so far. The rise in new infections has slowed recently – on Tuesday, the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) reported 5,980 additional laboratory-confirmed corona cases. “The signs are pointing in the right direction, but we still have to significantly reduce the number of cases to relieve hospitals,” BAG’s Stefan Kuster told the media in the afternoon.
