In reality, Trump is not the cause of polarization, but its symptom. Joe Biden is the one who starts the healing process. He has clearly positioned himself as the middle candidate. And he managed to take over the progressive camp instead of making it an enemy like Hillary Clinton did in 2016. He also stuck with moderate language. He also managed to reach out to African Americans after George Floyd’s death when he showed genuine compassion.
