The federal and state governments in Germany agreed to massive temporary restrictions on public life in their discussion of the crown crisis on Wednesday.
The objective is clear: families and friends should be able to meet again in Germany for Christmas without too much fear. But for that, first everyone would have to significantly restrict themselves, my federal and state governments. The new rules are pretty close to closing spring. They should take effect on November 2 and will initially apply until the end of the month.
Contacts: Only members of two households can meet in public, a maximum of ten people.
Gastronomy: Restaurants, bars, clubs, discos and pubs will be closed. The delivery and collection of food for consumption at home is also allowed. The dining rooms can also open.
Leisure: Recreational facilities will be closed. These include theaters, operas, concert halls, trade shows, cinemas, amusement parks, and arcades.
Sport: Fitness studios, pools, and fun pools will be closed. Amateur sports operations will be suspended, so the clubs will no longer be able to train. Individual sports, like jogging alone, are still allowed. Professional sport like the Bundesliga is only allowed without spectators.
Services: Cosmetic studios, massage practices and tattoo studios are closed because the minimum distance cannot be maintained here. Medically necessary treatments, for example performed by a physical therapist, are still possible. The hairdressers also remain open.
Supermarkets: Retail remains open, but there are regulations on how many customers can be in the store at the same time.
Retail: Businesses in the country must remain open. The round of the federal governments with the 16 prime ministers also decided that there could be one customer for every ten square meters of sales area. The federal government originally proposed a limit of one customer per 25 square meters. Industrial and craft businesses should also remain open.
Schools and kindergartens: Schools and kindergartens remain open.
