Austrian Airlines (AUA) is the first airline in the Lufthansa Group to test the use of corona rapid tests on a flight from Vienna to Berlin. The rapid antigen testing test, which began this Friday, will last until November 8, the Austrian airline announced.
The test, which is voluntary and free for passengers and is supposed to provide a result after 15 minutes, is not a substitute for the less rapid PCR test. Nor does it change the strict entry requirements due to the pandemic.
Test notification is sent by SMS
The AUA and Vienna Airport want to know how rapid tests can be integrated into the flight journey. Passengers can take the test at a test center in the check-in area. You will discover the result 15 minutes later by text message or verbally.
The boarding pass is only activated if the test is negative. If the test result is positive, the affected passengers must clarify how to proceed with the health authority. You can then rebook or cancel the flight free of charge. (SDA)
