Bad news for Aline Danioth: The tech specialist suffered another knee injury after a fall.
Aline Danioth has seriously injured her right knee again. The 22-year-old fell during slalom training at the Diavolezza, her coach confirmed to SRF. According to the head coach for women, Beat Tschuor, Uri’s wife was first transferred to a clinic in St. Moritz, but then moved to Zurich for further examinations.
Medical examinations there finally revealed a devastating finding: Danioth suffered another right anterior cruciate ligament tear. The national team athlete also suffered a medial meniscus tear. It will be operated in the next few days.
Injury during return
The technique was returning to the World Cup after an injury last season when the cruciate ligament was torn in Sestriere’s parallel giant slalom. For the former junior world champion it is the fifth serious injury in 4 years.
