His most important finding: in the course of the disease, the lungs go through two stages in which patients must be treated differently. In the first stage, the lungs are heavily colonized by the virus, the levels of inflammation increase considerably, but the lung tissue is still practically intact.
In the second, the inflammation values are lower, but the lungs show signs of destruction and deposits. As a result, patients would have to be treated first with antiviral and anti-inflammatory drugs. Complement inhibitors may be effective later.
