The man suffered major head injuries and had to be admitted to the emergency room by the emergency doctor and paramedics from the Basel-Stadt ambulance, the Basel-Stadt canton prosecutor announced on Sunday.
Previous investigations by the prosecution’s criminal investigation department revealed that there was a verbal discussion with two other men, which then escalated. The assailant and his colleague left the bar.
During the night, one of the two men, a 31-year-old Swiss, surrendered to the police. His colleague, who attacked and wounded the 36-year-old, is on the run.
