A night out in Locarno TI ended for a group of Zurich Kanti students at the police station and for a 23-year-old asylum seeker at the hospital (BLICK reported). Meanwhile, more details are known about the bloody incident in the early hours of Friday: as reported by the “Tages-Anzeiger”, the pupils of the Hottingen canton school escaped after midnight and went to Piazza Castello, a place popular meeting place for young people.
It is not yet clear why the situation worsened. However, what is certain is that the Kanti students greatly ruined the asylum seeker. According to the report, he was no longer able to defend himself, and the bullies only let him go when one of the high school graduates intervened.
Two broken teeth, black eye
According to the police, the asylum seeker had to be transferred to La Carità hospital “seriously” injured. As of Monday, they are still treating him there. According to “La Regione”, he has two broken teeth and a black eye.
Police do not give details about his health. However, he could have been asked about the incidents on Monday afternoon.
Four participants are of legal age, two are minors
The rector of the Hottingen Cantonal School, Daniel Zahno, wishes the asylum seeker “a speedy and complete recovery”, as it is stated in a circular to parents. The incident does not correspond to the values that are lived in the school.
“When I was informed, I was shocked and surprised that our students could do something like this and that this fight has escalated,” Zahno said Sunday when asked by BLICK. One has never had a problem with violence in the Kanti. Zahno doesn’t think racism played a role: “There is no evidence for it.”
According to the “Tages-Anzeiger” report, six students from different classes participated in the fight. According to the information, four of them are of legal age and two are still minors. (noo)
