After two years, four aspiring Chur City Police have successfully completed their basic training at the East Swiss Police College. As stated in a message, the four have been sworn in and solemnly promoted to police officers.

The promotion and swearing-in ceremony of the Chur City Police took place on Thursday in the municipal council hall of the Chur city hall. The budding police officers were celebrated as part of the event. In the place were, among others, the commander of the police of the city of Chur, Ueli Caluori, the current president of the municipal council Hans Martin Meuli and other guests and relatives, as they say.

Various speeches by the policemen

Police Commander Caluori made a speech at the ceremony. He was referring to the future work of the four new policemen: “You will have pleasant and interesting encounters, but also difficult and stressful missions.”

In addition, Roland Hemmi, Deputy Commander and Head of Training, briefly reviewed the applicants’ training period and encouraged the four policemen to proudly wear the city police uniform, as they would be the city police ambassadors in direct contact with the population. Mayor Urs Marti also gave a speech and noted the importance of the police in the city of Chur.

Get started in daily work

The four new police officers will go on to work for the city police from now on. “I am sure that they will not only complement our corps, but will reinforce them,” Commander Caluori said. By the way, as in other schools, the training of the four policemen was partly carried out in homeschooling thanks to Corona. (paa)
