Starting today, fans can re-enter the stadium, but not everyone has space.
As of today, Swiss football and ice hockey clubs can once again receive more than 1,000 spectators at the stadium. Two-thirds of the seats can be occupied here. Not all clubs are equally affected by this measure.
The Swiss ice hockey championship starts today with a slight delay. This delay is because sporting events with more than 1000 spectators are only allowed again starting today. Therefore, the start of the season has been postponed. Each club can now host as many spectators:

Too many season tickets were sold
The twelve ice hockey clubs in the National League will have lower incomes than the previous one. Because between Geneva and Davos, between Zurich and Lugano, many more fans have recently entered the stadiums than are now allowed. Spectator Croesus Berna, who averaged 16,237 fans last season, can now host 6,750 fans. The imposing standing ramp received seating.

SCB has the same problem as other clubs, such as EV Zug, SCL Tigers or Friborg-Gottéron: they have all sold more season tickets than they have now. The dilemma was resolved by dividing the subscribers into two groups. A subscription holder can only be there for every second game, but he sees each opponent at least once.
Even the best soccer teams have to turn away fans
The Swiss soccer championship is already underway. Until now, a maximum of 1,000 spectators were allowed into the stadium, but the utilization of two-thirds of the capacity with mandatory seats now also applies in open-air stadiums. In general, footballers are doing a bit better than their skid partners. There are four clubs that can still offer more spots than they can normally fill, including FC Zurich and Servette. On the other hand, Master YB can only let 20,000 fans into the Wankdorf stadium; last season, the average attendance was 26,708. With FC Basel and FC St. Gallen, the other two best teams fared the same as last season.

Personal responsibility required
Masks are required for spectators in the stadium. Anyone who attends a game despite a positive Corona test and is caught faces a suspension from the stadium for up to three years. And, of course, the clubs are threatened that the authorities will not allow them to play the games if there is a large number of violations of the conditions. Denis Vaucher, director of the ice hockey league, emphasized: “Everyone’s personal responsibility is by far the most important thing. People have to meet the mask and seat requirements, registration and guidelines for catering. ”
If the number of cases increases, the measures are likely to tighten up even with the best compliance in the stadium. The decision rests with the cantons, which authorize the games and can revoke this authorization at any time. The possibility of a distortion of competition cannot be ruled out if, for example, there are no more spectators in the stadiums of the French-speaking cantons, but the German-speaking and Ticino-speaking ATMs should continue to enjoy revenue.
