A fire extinguisher prank in an underground car park in Basel caused tens of thousands of francs worth of property damage. A car driver also had to be taken to the hospital for a checkup due to breathing difficulties.
About 80 cars were damaged by the extinguishing material in the underground parking lot of an apartment building on Signalstrasse on Tuesday night around 9 p.m., the Basel prosecutor announced on Wednesday. The juvenile lawyer is looking for three unknown young suspects aged 13 or 14.
A tenant complained of breathing difficulties after exiting the underground parking lot due to fine dust from the extinguisher, it is said. Paramedics had to take her to the hospital to monitor her. Affected car owners are asked to report the matter.
