US presidential debate – Trump vs. Biden: outrageous cockfight with Trump as a loser – News

Even the otherwise unemotional CNN commentator only finds the word “Shitshow” at the end. And the Washington Post writes about “the worst debate in living memory.” In fact: it was exhausting, it was painful. And it could have been a devastating night for Trump.

Trump’s tactic is evidently to let his opponent speak as little as possible. From the first minute he keeps interrupting Biden. At times the result is a barely understandable cockfight with little substance. Neither Trump nor Biden are presidential.

Biden is in his prime

Currently, the country needs nothing more than a leader who can give hope to the people. Times are dark in the United States: the corona pandemic, economic crisis, environmental disasters, demonstrations, and the growing fear of violence around the elections.

Joe Biden only partially manages to counter Trump’s aggressive behavior with flair and retort. You can’t hide that your prime is behind you. Over and over again he becomes entangled with the numbers, loses the thread during the sentence.

But at least Biden manages to let some humanity shine through every now and then. When she talks about her children or the victims of the crown crisis. Biden could also help by speaking out against violence in the immediate vicinity of protests. Trump and the conservative media have been trying for months to portray Biden as a friend of chaos.

Even if Biden doesn’t seem confident, he can show a stark contrast to Trump. Climate change, coronavirus, fiscal policy – everywhere you want to proceed very differently from the current president. At the same time, his proposals remain moderate enough not to alienate alternate voters in the middle.

Trump promotes fear of riots

Meanwhile, Trump did not even dare to credibly ask right-wing extremists to renounce violence. And he repeated once again the false claims that mail-in ballots resulted in massive electoral fraud. In doing so, it again promotes fear of the violent unrest surrounding the elections.

It’s hard to say a winner after this cockfight. Because neither Trump nor Biden achieved a good figure that night. Both have likely gained only a few new fans.

And yet, we must speak of a loser: Donald Trump. He’s behind at the polls and should win over new voters. Women in particular seem to have had more and more of his style. With his unworthy behavior, he could hardly have managed to change her mind.
