CBS’s blitz poll sees Biden as the winner, but another poll is surprising

The most chaotic television debate in recent history is over. Trump and Biden had a very rough deal and were constantly interrupted. That left no one indifferent, as shown by a first blitzkrieg by CBS after the debate.

A vast majority of Americans found the first television debate before the US presidential election to be, above all, exhausting. In a CBS blitz poll, a narrow majority saw Democratic challenger Joe Bilden as the winner in the exchange of blows with President Donald Trump.

When asked who won the debate, 48 percent named Biden and 41 percent named Trump. About ten percent called the result a tie.

When asked about their overwhelming feeling when watching the debate, more than two-thirds (69 percent) responded in the CBS blitz poll that the discussion had primarily upset them. Only 31 percent were entertained by it. In the survey with several possible answers, 19 percent also said they were pessimistic after the broadcast. Only 17 percent said the debate was informative for them.

The tone of the discussion, in which Republican President Trump repeatedly interrupted his rival, was considered negative by 83 percent of those questioned, and only 17 percent as positive.
