Shooting in Salem: several killed after being kidnapped in the US.

Several people were killed in a hostage-taking in the US city of Salem in Oregon on Monday afternoon. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 12:30 pm informing them that a hostage situation had occurred.

Following this, a task force with a trained hostage negotiator traveled to the scene. He tried to talk to the kidnapper on the phone. But “shots were fired,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
