In Frauenfeld, around 1,600 jobs in the cantonal administration are spread over 43 locations. More than half are in rental properties. The government building is the single largest office building owned by the canton. With the extension building, the offices that actually go together but are spatially separated will soon be in the same building again.
On the canton-owned land behind the government building in Frauenfeld, a four-story wooden urban structure with underground parking will be constructed, a supplementary building with 300 jobs. With this new building, the canton of Thurgau wants to save rents of around 630,000 francs per year in the future.
