It took a spunky appearance from a 19-year-old for Lucerne to earn a point in this swinging game. Ashvin Balaruban pushed his way down the left and encountered forward Stefan Knezevic, who scored the expected 2-2 draw for Lucerna in the 81st minute.
Schürpf’s early goal
From a good starting position, Lucerne ultimately made no profit. At 46 seconds, Pascal Schürpf surprised Lausanne somewhat sleepy with the 1-0 score.
The Vaudois responded by mail back. In the 6th minute, Joel Monteiro, 21, tied for the newcomer. The young Monteiro only completed his second appearance in the Super League. He played for Andi Zeqiri, who was willing to emigrate and was not on the squad.
Bürkis Flop
After the red card against Lausanne defender Mickaël Nanizayamo, who allowed himself a rude tackle against Ibrahima Ndiaye, all advantages apparently returned to the side of Central Switzerland.
But they got in their own way. Marco Bürki made a catastrophic playing error after a throw-in, Aldin Turkes was able to benefit and put the guests ahead for the first time (50th).
Alves of luck
The same Turk was knocked down on the center line by Lucas Alves 20 minutes later. Even if the Lausanne striker still had a long way to go, Alves’ action as the last man could have resulted in a red rather than just a yellow card. So Lucerne remained in the majority for the final offense.
So it goes
Lausanne remains undefeated while Lucerne is still awaiting its first win of the season. Fabio Celestini’s team continues with difficult matches against Basel, St. Gallen and YB. Lausanne meets Zurich next weekend.
